LOOSvanVLIET, founded in 2009 by Martine van Vliet and Freek Loos, is a studio for Landscape Architecture, Urbanism and Architecture. LOOSvanVLIET is working on all kinds of projects in Europe, Africa and Asia, varying from area developments, landscape design and urban planning to the design of parks and gardens, architectural projects and furniture for public spaces.

Three disciplines

The combination of these three disciplines allows us to understand different scales and levels of detail. It makes our contribution flexible and it provides an excellent basis for working together on complex tasks.

Open mind

The world is constantly changing; therefore our design culture must be creative, open-minded but also based on knowledge and experience. It is a never-ending learning process and that is why we include, where useful, knowledge and experience of others in our projects. Depending on the task, we work together with knowledge institutes, water specialists, traffic specialists and engineers, but also with architects, landscape architects and artists. We believe that an open approach based on sharing knowledge and information is the best foundation for a good result.

Quality

Each task has its own challenges, such as the client’s wishes, the programme, the budget, the existing landscape, the location and context, and the cultural and historical setting. For every assignment we seek the most sustainable, qualitative solution within the given conditions. With this approach we hope to develop durable environments for both people and planet.
