Urbio: In Stockholm’s new ecological district, Royal Seaport Stockholm, Urbio has designed the landscape of one of the biggest residential quarter; Stora Sjöfallet.
Climate-smart buildings with interesting architecture are embedded by green inner courtyards that has been designed with a high green-index that comprises use of a variarty of plant species, climbing plants, big trees and element of nature pedagogic values.
Storm water is seen as a resource in the design, and water collecting barrels are part of the ecological strategy. Another component is the wooden sitting sculpture that serves as dead wood habitat for oak living organisms. Nesting boxes on facades provide shelter for birds and bats. Up on the roof gardens there are solar cell panels combined with meadow vegetation.
