UDLA is a leading Western Australian multidisciplinary design studio delivering landscape-led projects that are grounded in real places and people. Our collaborative, ideas-driven processes result in the design of places that make positive and lasting contributions to their settings.
We have a diverse portfolio encompassing projects of wide-ranging scales, contexts, and mediums across Western Australia. We enjoy sharing ideas and thinking strategically to respectfully respond to existing places, communities and systems. We believe that each place has its own stories to tell, and we aim to capture and convey them through our designs.
To us, the creation of places that inspire interest, interaction and sociality, is not a simple one-off enterprise, but rather the result of an inclusive process. Using engagement as a starting point for all design propositions, our team co-designs with knowledge holders, stakeholders and each other to ensure that every solution is tailored to its unique context. Our people-first approach makes UDLA unique amongst design studios in Western Australia and a leader in contemporary design thinking.
When starting a project, we utilise our diverse range of skills to achieve the desired design, social, historical, and environmental objectives. In addition to our qualified Landscape Architects, our team includes people trained and experienced in Indigenous studies, public health, urban design, arboriculture, horticulture, architecture, interpretation and wayfinding, graphic design, art and heritage, conservation, and land management. Our comprehensive skill set enables us to integrate and consider all elements of a project, resulting in a cohesive and memorable place.
