KCAP is an international design practice dedicated to creating vibrant, sustainable environments that enhance city life. We integrate urban planning, architecture and landscape architecture in a coherent and design-led approach. Our forward-thinking, open-minded outlook is grounded in over 35 years of experience and a proven track record of bringing projects from concept to realisation. Our diverse team of over 100 professionals works from offices in Rotterdam, Zürich and Paris. With a dedicated team of landscape architects we work in complex and highly urbanized environments. We work across scales and typologies—from intimate squares to entire waterfronts, from complex mobility nodes to city parks and new urban districts.
We position landscape as the structuring and connective element of the city. At the interface of built form, interwoven with architecture and urbanism at every scale, the landscape establishes sustainable living environments in which buildings and open space function seamlessly together. Our contextual and collaborative approach results in spaces that are legible, functional, and resilient. Our work is recognizable in its clarity of intervention, its distinctive materiality, and the care we put into detail.
We design landscapes that matter, recognizing the significance of history, culture, and identity in landscape design. By translating local narratives and meanings into contemporary form, we create landscapes with lasting relevance that resonate with local communities and foster a sense of pride and connection.
We design landscapes for the future, embedding climate resilience, flood adaptation, decarbonization, densification, and biodiversity into our standard practice. Grounded in research, we respond to the ecological, economical, and technical structures that define each site—creating spaces that are context-driven, adaptive, and enduring.
We design for and with people. Our landscapes are open-ended and strategic, meeting today’s challenges while leaving room for tomorrow’s change. Through precise interventions, we enable appropriation, local initiative, and layered use over time. We advocate for public realms that are inclusive, accessible, and socially alive, places where diverse communities can gather and everyday life can take root. Through meaningful collaboration with citizens, public authorities, developers, experts and institutions, landscape becomes a civic structure, generating environmental resilience, spatial coherence, and shared value for the city.
