The Steinwies/Irisstrasse residential development is located in a historic park. The protected, magnificent tree population has been integrated into the design and its exotic, historical composition served as inspiration for the new layout, in which magnolias, hydrangeas and ferns create an atmospherically colourful picture. The sculptural building with its organic floor plan is bordered by flowering shrubs. They follow the form of the building but their width varies, creating a certain lightness and distance from the facades.

The access to the main entrance echoes the floor plan, and generates a generous, square-like paved route. Along the site boundary a restored gravel path with stone edging leads the visitors through the garden. Mindful of the competing demands of modern use requirements and the residents desire for tranquillity, we test our attentiveness and write a new chapter in the history of this garden.
