Schønherr: The new university in Sønderborg by 3XN blends in with its coastal surroundings in a natural and human scale. Along the buildings near the harbor, Schonherr has designed the outside campus area supplemented by a wooden promenade. The campus area is structured by rows of willows with olive trees taking over, where the rows intersect the buildings. The wooden promenade in front of the university buildings unfolds in a lively meandering flow which accentuates the nearness to the water of the Alsen sound.
