Oh, those sprinklers remind me of Plaça dels Països Catalans (in Sants, Barcelona) back when skaters and high-speed rail works hadn’t wrecked it beyond repair.

Madrid has been recently improving their public spaces a lot, I remember the last time I went to Madrid this square was the worst – very hard. Of course the area is kind of depressed too (or it used to be – lots of prostitution, drugs and so on) but I like the comic shops you can find in the surrounding streets 🙂

Great use of pattern and materials, simple, modern, urban.

The stone paving though well designed is starting to break up. On a rainy day hard to read function of multiple levels across site. Perhaps somewhat over designed compared Madrid city plazas.
