14 February / New European Bauhaus Boost for Small Municipalities

News —

With the support of the European Parliament, the EU is launching a special initiative to empower small municipalities by awarding 20 prizes. This initiative aims to recognize the value of community-based projects that are aligned with the New European Bauhaus 1 European Parliament Pilot Project “Stimulating Local and Regional New European Bauhaus Grassroots Projects” (NEB) values (sustainable, inclusive, beautiful) and working principles (participatory process, multi-level engagement, transdisciplinary approach).

These projects should focus on the built environment—such as the construction, renovation, and adaptation of buildings and public spaces—through the lenses of circularity, carbon neutrality, cultural heritage preservation, affordable housing solutions, and regeneration of rural or urban spaces. The aim of the Boost for Small Municipalities is to provide the support they need to overcome financial barriers and further develop projects that are inclusive, sustainable and beautiful. These prizes will not only highlight outstanding projects that embody NEB’s core values of sustainability, inclusivity, and beauty, but also bring visibility and provide recognition to the small municipalities behind them.

The application period will start on 14 January 2025 and end on 14 February 2025.
