ISTA is an international research institute in natural and formal sciences, located in Maria Gugging, northwest of the Austrian capital Vienna. The building has recently been renovated, and the outdoors has got a new face.

In the year of 2025, the team from ISTA contacted miramondo with a request to furnish their beautiful patio and sundeck for the students. The decision to use furniture made of HPL instead of wood was clever: since the students love to enjoy their lunchbreak there, HPL is way easier to clean and maintain than wood. The smooth HPL surfaces also provide a perfect surface for handwritten notes whilst studying. 

Since the logo had been undergoing a redesign in different shades of green, the choice of colour was easy to decide upon.

The elegant and simple look of the building is reflected in the timeless outlines of our BIBI range. The number of options within this range makes it easy to create different areas within one single project. There are table and bench combinations for eating and studying, comfy park benches and chairs for enjoying the sunshine by the waterside, and wall-mounted seats for short breaks or waiting for a colleague.

The ISTA patio offers lots of options for different types of usage: food areas, study points, waiting zones and places to gather.
