The seventh European Biennial of Landscape Architecture will take place in Barcelona at the end of September, once again featuring some of the most renowned names of European landscape architecture. Within the framework of the Biennial, the Rosa Barba prize will be awarded to one of the following finalists:

Michel Desvigne, Ile Seguin, jardin de prefiguration, France
João Ferreira Nunes, Etar de Alcântara – Effluent water treatment station, Portugal
Martí Franch Batllori / Ton Ardévol, Restoration of the Natural Area Tudela Culip (Club Med) in the Cap de Creus Natural Park, Spain
Marianne Mommsen, The Written Garden ‘Gardens of the World’, Germany
Jacqueline Osty, Martin Luther King park, France
Steffan Robel / Joachim Swillus, Mangfallpark Rosenheim, Germany
Michael van Gessel, Twickel Estate, renovation of the historic park of Twickel Castle, the Netherlands

 

Designers will present their projects on the 27th of September, whereas the following day will be dedicated to deliberations and reflections concerning the future and the internationalization of the profession, gathered under the name Biennial Vs Biennial. Speakers on the second day:

Marieke Timmermans, Landscape Architect, Head of the department of Landscape at Academy of Architecture Amsterdam
Julie Bargmann, Landscape Architect, Founding Principal of DIRT Studio and Associate Professor at Virginia University.
Round Table: Innovation in Education
Manolo Ruisánchez, Architect and Professor at the Department of Urban Planning at UPC and Founding Principal of Ruisánchez arquitectes, Spain
Gilles Vexlard, Landscape Architect, Founding Principal of Latitude Nord and Professor at ENSP in Versailles, France.
Round Table: Innovation in Professional Practice

 

On the third and final day of the symposium, under the direction of the editorial team of magazine Topos, the theme of ” The world of landscape architecture” will be discussed by:
