Architectural Heritage Intervention (AHI) has launched the seventh edition of the European Award AHI, with registrations open from December 18, 2024, to March 14, 2025. A benchmark for heritage intervention since its inception in 2013, the award recognizes excellence across disciplines.

The biennial event is jointly organized with the Architects’ Association of Catalonia and supported by Catalan institutions. It highlights exemplary projects completed between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2024, while fostering dialogue on heritage’s role in addressing contemporary challenges such as the climate crisis and decarbonization.

The award serves as an observatory of best practices, showcasing innovative approaches that integrate energy efficiency and sustainable strategies. Professionals, institutions, and associations involved in architectural heritage can submit their works via the online platform until March 14, 2025, in the following categories:

– Built Heritage: Recognizes architectural interventions, both temporary and permanent, in buildings with historic or cultural value.

– Exterior Spaces: Awards efforts to restore or reinterpret historic public spaces, monumental areas, and cultural landscapes.

– Urban Planning: Celebrates planning tools and frameworks for protecting and enhancing architectural heritage, including Special Plans and inventories.

– Disclosure: Highlights initiatives promoting heritage appreciation through publications, events, and public outreach, even beyond Europe.
