10 November / Oberlander Prize Forum: Mario Schjetnan and Víctor Legorreta on the Landscape–Architecture Relationship

News —

The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) will host the next Virtual Oberlander Prize Forum on 10 November 2026, 12:00 to 1:15 PM ET, bringing together 2025 Oberlander Prize laureate Mario Schjetnan and architect Víctor Legorreta in conversation moderated by Oberlander Prize Jury Chair Claire Agre.

The two practitioners have collaborated for decades, and the forum will draw on three projects where their practices converged: the Ayamonte Residence, the Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, and the New Guanajuato Government Offices in Silao. The conversation will explore how landscape and architecture inform and challenge each other, and what sustained collaboration between the two disciplines produces.

Víctor Legorreta is Partner, CEO, and Design Director at LEGORRETA, which he joined in 1991 following studies at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and professional experience at Leason Pomeroy in the United States, Martorell-Bohigas-Mackay in Barcelona, and Fumihiko Maki in Japan. His landmark projects include the Papalote Children’s Museum, the BBVA Tower (with Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners), and the Four Seasons Tamarindo. He is a Fellow AIA Honorary Member and Emeritus Academic of the National Academy of Architecture, Valle de México Chapter.

Claire Agre is a Partner and Co-founder of Unknown Studio Landscape Architecture & Urban Design in Baltimore, and previously a Principal at West 8. She chairs the Oberlander Prize jury.

The event is free and open to all.
